Trent's Response to the Reformation
Trent clearly misunderstands or caricatures Luther right and is responding to a certain kind of vision of Luther as that's been mediated by rumor perhaps rather than direct engagement at times. As Trent closes down against the various heresies of the Reformation era what are our ecumenical possibilities? I think there's clearly a grant for discussion there even though there remains some points of difference.
