Is Tap the Most Common Name in Plumbing?
Pipe operator was a strong selling point of the language, having that awkwardness there. We were divided between tap and T. A tap is this thing already exists. I'm just going to tap into it existing as it is and get what I want out of it. The same way that in Haskell, for example, a least comprehension that we also have in a licksier, it's kind of instantiation of a monad. It's like a monad for a particular use case with superpowers.
