Flint, Michigan would receive an initial round of $5 million in federal aid to help cover the cost of providing water, water filters, and other items. Emails obtained soon after would prove that Governor Snyder was made aware of the issue at least one month prior. An email dated March 10th from the Flint Genesee County Health Department said: "The increase of the illnesses closely corresponds with the timeframe of the switch to the Flint River water"
