Uganda: Bote, Amin and the Gold Allegation

Colonel idiamin pocketed cash from an arms sale, he's built a massive smuggling network. He has been selling on weaponry personally in return for shipments of gold, ivory and coffee. The president mutesa the second king, freddy, demands an official inquiry,. declares that a bote is complicit in the scandal and thus illegitimate as prime minister. Uganda is plunged into a huge political crisis. Bote denies any wrong doing. Conveniently, he despatches amin out of town and takes a break himself. But all is not well: after aboti survives an assassination attempt by mere inches, rumours will swirl as to the identity of the perpetrator.
