Ranger Tim Sattnica: We started getting word and it came back through a couple of our seasonal employees that people were out at the lake getting weed. So we sort of put two and two together and realize that we actually have been, I guess I don't know the right term, but these guys had gone in and they were taking the marijuana out. April 13, 1977. It was time to take back Lower Merced Pass with DEA and FBI fully aware that their crime scene was now an outright gold rush.
