Many philosophers today and other people who think that it won't. And so if somebody says, well, you know, forget about anyone who argues against materialism, we're going to prove it in the future. Then this amounts to what Karl Popper, the philosopher of science, called Promissory Materialism. It involves issuing promissory notes against future explanations that don't actually exist.
