What Is a Foot in the Door?

i'm interested in when you discovered that it wasn't just going to be a bunch of manuscripts. But people actually, yot, are really discovered and connected with your work. Is there a time? Did it happen gradually, or is there a really identified time where you can say, this is when i knew, i tha something was happening? It was a gradual, it was a learning, a experience, probably about ten years, i'd say, from starting from the e from the young ones. I want to do that having a book published in 19 97, so it began in 87.
