The History of the Archie's

The Archie's were a fictional garage rock combo. Co-written by future 70s hitmaker Andy Kim, Sugar Sugar sold more than 3 million copies in 1969 alone and commanded the Hot 100 for four weeks. During the second of those four weeks, the Archie's blocked Credence Clearwater Revival from rising to the top with Green River. By now, Credence were such a big chart presence that even their B-Sides were becoming hits in their own right.
