The governor of the region has claimed that Ukrainian forces shelled the road in a town near the border. But members of the freedom of Russia Legion, one of those legions we've been talking about recently, said that the two civilians were mistaken for Legion members and were killed by Russian fire. The strategic significance of the attacks on Belgrade is that they are forcing Russian troops to fight against the border region. They are forcing Russian commanders to reconsider where they station forces. And interestingly, British intelligence are saying today that they face an acute dilemma of whether to strengthen defences or reinforcing their lines in occupied Ukraine.
