Inerrancy in the 20th and 21st century evangelical context has been one of the kind of perennially debated fences around evangelicalism. In this nebulousness of what it means to be evangelical, it's a trans-nomination movement that is, I cannot be reduced to one kind of institution. There isn't an officially recognized hierarchy of folks who can say, yes, this is exactly what it mean to be evangelical and there's disagreements. The winner would define the loser out of the category and push them out.
