Jonathan: strep throat is a very similar model to people who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis or juvenile arthritis the body's immune system is reacting against it in a way itself and I think that's the really interesting dark side of why we're so interested in this this particular microbe. The symptoms have been read out a lot haven't in the media that in the last couple of weeks but it's a child who is unwell and poorly with a fever usually they will complain of a sore throat or difficulty swallowing. Children often will get big glands up in the necks which you can feel and they will be tender so that would be a good indication that they might have a strep throat
