What Was It Like in Law School?
Jason Cooley: I went to law school at a time when law schools were much less equipped to teach corporate law and transactional law. The firm that I started with in 1998 had an interesting process for their first year associates. They required all first year associates to do both business and litigation work for the first year. In doing both different types of work, I realized about halfway through that first year that I really wanted to be a business lawyer. And so I decided to switch into that practice. It's also something that happened gradually and over time.
