I'm always fascinated by the persistent idea in so many countries that the future will make the electorate more progressive and more secular. And somehow it never seems to happen, says CNN's John Defterios. "This is a basic kind of structural challenge in Turkish politics," he adds. I believe 8% of the electorate were first-time youth voters; my assumption is they skewed towards the opposition.
