The Risk of Intubation in the Emergency Department
The initial sample size calculation, which was based on the prepare one trial, planned to enroll 750 patients. It was calculated that this would provide 80 percent power at an alpha of 0.05 to detect an absolute difference of 8.75 percent or a relative risk difference of 35 percent. The only patients being withdrawn where those who were discovered to be prisoners after intubation. So in those cases you're not by right by regulations not allowed to collect any data.
