Chosan - A History of Women's Rights
The only acceptable aspiration for a woman in the Chosan era was to marry and produce children specifically, a son. Daughters were referred to as robber women because their dowry took away from their family's wealth. So men and women lived separately even in their own house. And I didn't come across anything suggesting any sort of non-binary gender understanding. One is always better than the other one. Everything is a binary.
