Smell Does Have Something to Do With Chemicals and Food
Aromatic compounds are special groups of chemicals that lift easily off food and float tantalizingly into the air. We have special olfactory neurons, which we can think of as smell cells, in our brain to catch those compounds. Each smell carries a ton of these tiny molecules. So when they're delivered to your brain, it's like a full onrush of scent information.
