A lot of business value comes from having friends. And it's worth making friends along the way, even if there's no obvious way in which these people are going to help your business. I have a standing offer that I have on my website, that if anyone comes to visit Cambridge, I will buy them a coffee, no questions asked. About once a week, I meet up with a random person who wants to hang out with me.
