There is some research, especially in the adolescent population, that looks at swimmers and endurance athletes versus what they call multi directional sport athletes. People were athletes who participated in just swimming and running had a higher likelihood of having a low bone mineral density than their multi directional sport peers. So you automatically see a little bit of a shift towards exposure to some of these injuries and risk just as a result of the sport. But the conversation is likely much more complex than that because what you see a lot in these instances is that athletes are chronically under fueled and distends.
