The Importance of Community Over Individuality

I'm just caused to remember the humbling truth that we are just one part of this marvelous work of redemption that has gone on before us and gone after us. And we share deep commonality. We need the world. It's amazing how much I've learned about my faith from being outside of my own culture. You learn so much about our private covert idolatry by seeing how overt idolatry operates. Everything that replaces God is massively ugly. Although what sin does is make us cause us to be able to look at ugly and see beauty.
