A lot of plants are wind polenated. They just cast immense amounts of pollen into the air. But other plants have adopted a craftier way of carrying on, where they get an animal carry the pollen for them. And it's designed so that the chosen insect can stick its tongue in to get the nectar - which is vital as aviation fuel for the insects.
