For the past forty to 50 years, biblical scholars have been pretty sceptical about the book of exodus. But as new archae ical data started accumulating, there grewa movement that was sort of a two prong movement - biblical archaeology and biblical theology. Both were interconnected because both were stressing the role of history. And from the 19 thirties to the 19 70s in north america, the the biblical archaeology was held in high esteem.
