Queran Foster's Theology of Dante
Queran Foster became the post-war authority on Dante's theology in both English and Italian scholarships. In Trusted, for example, with the most important theological entries in the Inchic Lapidia Dantes, at 1970 to 78, big encyclopedia of Dante studies. Like Oxford scholar Edward Moore, Foster sees Dante as fundamentally an Aristotelian in philosophy. For Dante, Aristotle is ill-meister, the master of philosophy, master of the journey man,. He also situates Dante's Aristotelia within competing philosophical currents of his time.
