How to Put Something Into Words
It's really hard to know what's going on in the mind before you open your mouth, but there are some tricks to do that. By looking where participants eyes are on a scene, you kind of know what they're thinking about. And so that gives you a clue as to what goes on before they they open their mouths. Sometimes you may have an idea about a particular thing you want to talk about, but not yet have ordered your thoughts about it. So these collectively, we call them disfluences.
