The Nativity of Cardinal Gregory
There was a significant birthday in the state of the American episkopit this week because Cardinal Wilton Gregory, the Archbishop of Washington turned 75 years old. The age at which bishops customarily are requested to send a letter of resignation to the Roman pontiff. And he will presumably be remaining in office for a couple of more years as is the custom for cardinals at least in these United States. But I have been thinking about two things related to the birthday of Cardinal Gregory.
