Imagining a New Particle With Point-O-One Charge?

Theorists always just dismiss that possibility as not very aesthetic. They want a reason why a particle would have some arbitrary tiny little charge rather than just like putting the number in by hand. A lot of it really is also a search for beauty and elegance in the universe. There are some folks out there who think that's misguided. The universe doesn't have to be beautiful.
