Kafka's America in the Nineteenth Century

Kafka would have imagined there being quite a bit more book. We got a teenage, a teenage hero. He's on this enormous boat steaming into this imagined New York. The end of the 19th century, in the first decade or so of the 20th century, there is a sort of American craze in Europe. And people are trying to start to do things all American.
