Marbury vs Adams - A Political Strategy Crafted by John Marshall
Marbury was precipitated by the election of 18 hundred, in which jefferson, the incumbent vice president and leader of the republicans, ran for president against the incumbent president. The election was then thrown into the house of representatives. Realizing it would not win re election, adams moved to solidify his party's influence in the federal government. Passage of the judiciary act of 18 o one, creating 16 new federal circuit judgeships is part of his strategy.
