Nicholas Johnson: I spend a lot of time on price. It's the hardest variable and the one that in some ways I agonize over the most. After a while, you can say, this is a great business. But is it a great price? He says investors focus much more on profits than growth for tech companies. Jones: Has anything changed in light of what many technology companies seem to have thrown away money in low payoff projects in recent years?Johnson: Investing is not like that. Investing is judgment. There's no such thing as directionally accurate investing.
