Mississippi State Senate Considers Unelected State Appointed Court System in Jackson
The Mississippi State Senate is going to resume consideration of a bill that would create an unelected state appointed court system. Critics say it's a takeover of the city, which has the second highest percentage of black residents by white politicians. Legal leaders in Jackson believe there are better ways to address concerns that the current elected judiciary isn't able to keep up with the pace of cases.
