Don't Be Racist Guys, Just for One Night

I feel like especially stuff I've seen like in the community, like a lot of people don't know when they're being racist. Like imagine somebody makes a joke in class and it's racist towards Asians. Then who's right or wrong? You know what I mean? If it offends someone, does that make it offensive? Or is it only offensive to them? And how is it okay for white people to say that? Is it okay for the natives just to do it out of self deprecation? It's kind of weird that we have to like, you know, say it.
