The Importance of Collectivist Societies in Sustainability

I think we have much to learn from collectivistic societies. In Western worlds, we're quite individualistic. And so that's really taking a kind of tribal approach to life and really saying we need to look after each other. That puts you at odds with the concept of shareholder value and profit maximization. But my second, I don't know, I have a sense that things are shifting slightly in that direction with ESG and various other movements where we're starting to think a bit more in those terms. There's a hell of a long way to go.
