The Colour Blue in Magrit's Art

I'm really intrigued about how she uses these colours because her work is kind of very distinctively blue or has these kind of iconic pinks. Do you think that colour kind of emphasises the ambiguity? Definitely. She's trying to capture this blue of what she calls the gloaming hour. It's this kind of moment when day becomes night, when things change. The male gaze is still well and truly in existence. And the violence of the male gaze, there was a particular painting that she did for the art now, where we asked her to respond to the collection. So she made paintings around Millay Zafilia and also around parting it morning by William Rothenstein.
