Peter S. says he likes to improvise battles on the spot rather than planning them all out ahead of time. He has a list of monsters from like CR 1 8th to CR 20 with generic stats for those and can make basically any monster I want on the spot. The big one is always names, like having this list of random names - what conditions do they work under? Peter H: "I've been running a lot of games now where I don't even open a monster book"
