How to Create a Dynamic Group Portrait
I'm pretty strict when it comes to group shots because often you've got an emcere amount of time with the group. So I will generally go in to each position and show the person exactly how I want them to sit or start. To a minimum, a group shot is very different from an individual portrait. Because an individual portrait you're really trying to convey a particular type of emotion. You know, you want them to channel something. Whereas I say group shot, and it's probably less about mood. Or if it's about mood, it's the mood that you create with the lighting and then it's about composition.
