The Future of Robotic Hands?

We are seeing in our teams a lot of hands. They might have one hand and one gripper, but hands are certainly becoming more prevalent. We still are looking at metal hands, but very articulated and much finer control than we had a decade ago. How long before there will be a humanoid, pedal robot that some one could control remotely?
