The Son of Man in Daniel 7

In Daniel 7, there's a figure who is described as one like a son of man. But what we go on to read about in Daniel 7 is the fact that the saints will suffer. And so it's not a coincidence that when Jesus describes his suffering, for example in Daniel 7 and Matthew 17, he says, the son of man is about to be delivered into the hands,. Just like in Daniel 7, the saints are given into the hands of men, Jesus says, and they will kill him.
