The improvements that led to Dalle to being such like a powerful system compared to Dalle 1 are basically all algorithmic rather than scale. So for example, the use of diffusion as opposed to the previous method that was used to generate images in Dalle 1. And at each step where it's trained to reverse one step of this corruption process, the model has to kind of fill in all of the details that could have been erased by one step of corruption. It kind of undistroids an image from scratch.
