I think it's on a very fundamental level. To me, I'm selling you something. I should at least take the effort of speaking to you in your language or if you sometimes that you understand. You also feel a lot more honest when you're pitching a product to them. If you can get this technical context and understand why developers use certain tools... It makes your life as a marketer a lot easier for sure.
