Escom spokesperson's Akonati Mantrancha is more optimistic about the longer-term future. The World Bank estimates 300,000 jobs to be created out of renewables in those areas over the next 20 years. Marie-Francois from the World Bank explains that various projects, like the Renewable Energy Training Centre at Kommati, will roll out in the next year or so.
