Ezekiel's Vision of the Temple and the Land
The book of ezekiel concludes with a lengthy and highly detailed vision of the temple and the land. Although the vision refers to actual historical real it does so in a symbolic fashion. No such temple or organization of the land and its people would ever be established in a concrete form. Rather, ezekiel's vision uses dense symbolism to articulate changes in israel's covenant situation following their restoration to the land. Chapter forty threecon nus this visionary account reversing events of the vision of chapters eight to 11.
