How Temptation and Delight Can Become Sinful
When a man has fainted and shows no sign of life, we lay our hand on his heart. We judge that he is alive if we apply some restorative aid to him. So too, it sometimes happens that through the violence of a temptation, our soul seems to have fallen into a total exhaustion in its powers. As long as this refusal remains active in our heart, we may rest assured that charity, the life of our soul, remains in us. Jesus Christ our Savior is there present, even though concealed.
