Spring and summer floods were leading to crop failures so that peasants had no surplus grain to sell at the market in the fall of 1315. There was a whole series of diseases that was affecting livestock that destroyed a lot of europe's Livestock population. At least one in every 10 people in Europe would perish either from famine from the epidemics from anything over what happened from 1315 to 1316 In the next couple years food prices soared.
