The Argument for XRISK May Be Proved Too Much
In a similar way here you have this nice analogy to corporations. For many things that you might want to do, it's easier for a corporation to do than a human. A corporation has a lot more cognitive power and disposal. And for things where a particular human might be good, the corporation can maybe find the best human in it and use that. I think they are specifically trying to maximize profit in some official sense. But if you also just looked at their behavior ... Are they maximizing human values? The answer is probably no.
