The Case of Kurt Flood and the Players Union

In January 1970, Kurt Flood with the backing of the players union files a lawsuit against Coon and against the MLB. He didn't really have like overwhelming support from rank and file players. But there were some interesting figures who did testify for Flood, including Jackie Robinson himself and Hank Greenberg,. Former owner Bill Veek was famous for signing the American League's first black player Larry Doby.
