Buster Keaton - The Story of the Artist
i know there's many, many great books on buster keaton. The thing that i wanted to do with this book was to tell not only his life story and the story of his work, but to kind of place him in the context of his time. There are just so many ways to frame his work that are about much more than cinema. He wasn't a tortured artist. His identity was not inextricably tied to the thing he did. And he had an insane work ethic, but it was just kind of like he would solve things.
