The Indigenous Population of Santo Domingo
Otecrisofer columbus lands on the island in 14 92, and he's going to rename it little spain. The western part of santo domingo is ceded to france by spain in 16 97 at the treaty of riswick. After that, it becomes the french colony of sain domaing. And i will note that the indigenous population, of course, had their own names for the island.
