BB's father was a staunch Zionist, but he didn't see military service as something which his sons necessarily have to do. He believed that his sons and his sons were very intelligent young men. Yoni was accepted to Harvard, but Yoni rebelled and went back to Israel the age of 18. Three and a half years later, BB did the same thing. Never ideologically, both brothers remained very staunch nationalists and right wingers.
