The Implications of Net Zero Investments for the Economy

The evidence seems to be that rates of return on capital have been falling since records begat. And I think that trend is exacerbated by net zero investments, because as we said, you know, net zero investments aren't necessarily going to pay a financial return. They're going to clean up the environment, but they're not necessarily going to generate extra value added, which is monetized in the economy. So,You know, I would expect returns to keep falling, massive investment in achieving net zero is likely to to exacerbate this pressure for falling returns. What that means for our pensions, yeah, you're going to need to save more money to earn the same pension.
