Pauline Black was born to an Anglo-Jewish mother and Nigerian father. She fronted a very grungy sounding band from Seattle called Bam Bam in the 1980s. They were doing their grunge thing in 1983, a couple of years before that sound really began to catch on. But they're almost completely expunged from the history of Grunge. Even what exists about them online is often incorrect.
