You're So Smart

Watch out for positive labels like, oh, you're so smart. It has been shown that if you tell a kid, oh, your smart all the time, when they have difficulty and when they fail at something,  they think, well, but i've been told i'm smart. So what happens is they fail, and then they stop trying, because they don't want to dis is disaffirm a word? Mike, sure. Well, if i fail, then i must not be smart. Therefore stop trying, stop doing anything difficult, because i don't want anyone to think that i'm not actually smart. Youi never thought of that. That's very interesting
